Renson M. Ingonga
Mr. Renson M. Ingonga, OGW, was appointed the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the 20th September, 2023 following an interview by Public Service Commission (PSC) and vetting by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC).
Mr. Ingonga holds an LLB Degree from Moi University, Kenya and Master’s Degree (LLM) in Law, Governance and Democracy from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He was admitted to the Bar in 2005.
Mr. Ingonga joined the Public Service in May 2006 as a Registrar of Titles, Ministry of Lands, Mombasa County. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Ingonga was the North Eastern, Regional Coordinator at ODPP, based in Garissa County. He has also worked in several counties within the ODPP offices across the country.
Mr. Ingonga has also successfully prosecuted diverse cases, facilitated investigations and enhanced collaboration of stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System. The President conferred upon him the State Honour of the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) on 12th December 2022 for distinction in public service.
Dorcas Oduor, EBS, OGW

Dorcas Oduor
Dorcas Oduor is the Secretary, Public Prosecutions and the Principal Deputy to the Director of Public Prosecutions. A career Prosecution Counsel, Mrs. Oduor has previously served in the Public Prosecutions space for over 20 years having begun her career as a State Counsel in 1991. She holds a Master’s degree in International Conflict Management and an LL. B Degree from the University of Nairobi alongside a Law Diploma, from the Kenya School of Law.
Jacinta Nyamosi, OGW,
Deputy Director Department of Offences Against the Person (OAP)
Jacinta Nyamosi
Jacinta Nyaboke Nyamosi is the Deputy Director in the Department of Offences Against the Person (OAP). Ms. Nyamosi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and was admitted to the bar in 1996. She practiced in various law firms before joining the Department of Public Prosecutions, which was then under the Attorney General’s Chambers, in 2000.
Ms. Nyamosi has previously served as a Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions in charge of Kisumu and Kiambu counties and most recently as the Regional Coordinator, Nairobi. She also served as the Head of the Sexual Offences Division and while at it, served as a Joint Secretary in the Task Force on the implementation of the Sexual Offenses Act, spearheaded the development Sexual Offences regulations of the SOA Act as well as the development of the Chief Justice Rules for the Sexual Offenses Act.
Ms. Nyamosi has robustly spearheaded trainings, public sensitizations and outreach programmes during the implementation of the sexual offences Act and Plea Bargaining and Diversion policies. She has experience on matters relating to Human Trafficking. Ms. Nyamosi has vast experience in prosecutions and has represented the State in sensitive and complex Criminal Prosecution, Appeals and Judicial Reviews and Constitutional Petitions and References.
Alloys Kemo, OGW,
Deputy Director in the Department of Prosecution Training Institute (PTI)
Alloys Kemo
Mr. Alloys Kemo is the Deputy Director in the Department of Prosecution Training Institute (PTI). Mr. Kemo is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and was admitted to the bar on 1995. He holds a Master’s of Science in Leadership & Governance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) , LLB Degree from Nagpur University, and a postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Mr. Kemo has previously served as a Regional Head, Coast Region between 2019 to 2021 before heading to Rift Valley as a Regional head. He has also served as a deputy head in the Department of offences against the person and Head of the Penal Code Offences Division between 2013 to 2018 at the Office of the Direction of Public Prosecutions.
He has also been a member of several committees that developed key prosecution policies and guidelines such as; the ODPP Act of 2012, National Prosecution guidelines, the Diversion policy, Diversion guidelines, the Plea bargain guidelines and The Decision to Charge guidelines amongst others. He also attended several prosecution courses in various thematic areas and in management and in Leadership.
Mr. Kemo has vast experience electoral Justice and lead the ODPP Election Offences Prosecution Team in the 2017 National General Elections and also the ODPP Election Preparedness Committee in the 2022 National General Elections. He is a trainer and has facilitated external trainings and also internal training for ODPP staff.
Hiribae Nkaduda,

Mr. Hiribae Nkaduda is a Deputy Director, Central Facilitation Services in the office of the DPP. He holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor degree in Education.
He Joined Public Service in June 1997 as a District Officer in the then Ministry of Internal Security and Provincial Administration and later rose through the ranks to Senior Deputy County Commissioner.
He has served in several Counties among them Embu, Kitui, Taita Taveta, Kilifi, Kakamega, Wajir, Nakuru, Tharaka Nithi. He brings with him a wealth of field experience and knowledge which will improve organizational processes, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Joseph Riungu, OGW,
Ag. Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions in the Department of Economic, Organised and International Crimes
Joseph Riungu
Mr. Joseph Gitonga Riungu, OGW is Ag. Deputy Director in the Department of Economic Organized and International Crimes. Mr. Riungu is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a career spanning 15 years in the legal system.
He holds a Master in Arts with a focus on Human Rights, an LLB Degree both from the University of Nairobi, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Previously, Mr. Riungu held positions as Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions and Regional Coordinator for the Nairobi region. In these roles, he supervised a team of 138 prosecutors across Nairobi, Kiambu, Makueni, Kajiado, and Machakos counties.
Additionally, he served as Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, directing operations at the Milimani prosecution office while simultaneously serving as Deputy Regional Head of Nairobi and Acting Head of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Organized Crime Division.
In his leadership capacity, Mr. Riungu spearheaded the implementation of key policies aimed at reshaping prosecutions, including the Excellence Charter, Decision to Charge Guidelines, and Deferred Prosecution Agreement. He also played a significant role in implementing the Uadilifu Case Management System, enhancing operational integrity within the Nairobi region.
He has also served on committees and boards, including the Victims Protection Board, and was appointed by the President as Assistant Counsel in the tribunal that investigated Hon. Mr. Justice Said Juma Chitembwe for misconduct.
Before joining the ODPP, Mr. Riungu contributed to legal aid policy formulation and provided legal advice and mediation services in the private sector and the Office of the Attorney General.
Hassan Abdi,

Hassan Abdi
Mr. Hassan Abdi is Ag. Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions in the Department of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance. Mr. Hassan is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He holds LLM Degree from Coventry University (UK), LLB degree from the University of Nairobi and a postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Prior to joining ODPP, Mr. Hassan was in private practice. Upon joining the ODPP, he was appointed Head, Appeals Division until 2021 when he was appointed the Regional Coordinator, Coast Region. He also served as Regional Coordinator, North and South Rift Region before rising to the current position.
He has been a member of various committees in ODPP such as the task force that developed the Decision to Charge (DTC) guidelines, the Disclosure policy, Correctional Service Policy and the task force on Review of the laws relating to Exercise of the Power of Mercy.
Michael Sang,

Michael Sang
Mr. Michael Sang serves as the Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions at the Department of County Affairs and Regulatory Prosecutions. He also holds the position of Head of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Organized Crime, leveraging extensive experience and expertise in these domains.
Mr. Sang holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Moi University, Eldoret. He is recognized as an Advocate of the High Court in good standing, having obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sang has established himself as a respected practitioner and distinguished legal scholar. He has authored over forty peer-reviewed publications addressing a wide range of institutional, legal, regulatory, and policy issues. His work focuses on promoting transformative change across both the private and public sectors in Kenya.
He has been a member of various committees in ODPP such as the task force that developed the Decision to Charge (DTC) guidelines, the Disclosure policy, Correctional Service Policy and the task force on Review of the laws relating to Exercise of the Power of Mercy.
