The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) hosted a delegation from the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) for a consultative meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in the fight against terrorism.

The discussions explored potential joint initiatives between the ODPP and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) under the Counter-Terrorism (CT) Inflow Projects. These initiatives aim to boost international cooperation, facilitate effective information exchange, and strengthen criminal justice responses to terrorism.

Mr. Vincent Monda, ODPP head of Mutual Legal Assistance, noted the crucial role played by various stakeholders in addressing various transnational crimes. He called for joint training for prosecutors and other agencies to deal with terrorism-related cases.

CEPOL is implementing the Counter-Terrorism Information Exchange and Criminal Justice Responses Project, which targets priority areas within the criminal justice system to support efforts in tackling terrorism.

This engagement marks a significant step towards building stronger networks, capacity building and ensuring a coordinated approach to counter-terrorism at both national and international levels.
