DPP hosts a delegation from the United States Department of Justice (USDOJ)

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Renson M. Ingonga, OGW, CBS, today hosted a delegation from the United States Department of Justice (USDOJ), which included Ms. Kristina Cervi, the newly appointed International Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (ICHIP) Attorney and Advisor.

The DPP emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and the USDOJ, particularly in enhancing the capacity of prosecutors to effectively handle cybercrime cases.

Further, the DPP noted the steady rise in cybercrime incidents and emphasized the need to equip prosecutors with the requisite skills and training to tackle these complex cases.

He highlighted of the ODPP’s notable successes in prosecuting cybercrime, while also outlining the key challenges encountered during these prosecutions.

Ms. Cervi reaffirmed the USDOJ’s commitment to supporting the ODPP’s cybercrime initiatives and expressed interest in exploring further areas of partnership and mutual interest.
