The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP)
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), in line with its strategic agenda of advancing the global fight against terrorism, organized a one-week trainer training session for the soon-to-be-launched Counter Terrorism Module at the PTI Loresho.
The Counter Terrorism Module Trainer Training Session was made possible through the partnership between the ODPP, BHC, and USDOJ-OPDAT and was graced by Mr. Michael Sang, the Ag. Deputy Director and Head of County and Regulatory Affairs; Mr. Jody Young of USDOJ; Ms. Jennifer Riddel and Nayni Zerzan of the British High Commission.
The prosecutors ran a pilot of the standardized ODPP Counter Terrorism Module that will be launched in January to train prosecutors from various parts of the country on how to handle counter terrorism matters.
Mr. Sang informed the participants that prosecutors have a duty to fight terrorism from within to protect Kenyans just as the military fight from the borders and outside Kenya and implored them to consider being a CT prosecutor a great privilege and that they should always put their best foot forward whilst discharging their CT mandate.
In attendance were CT prosecutors drawn from PTI, Kahawa, Shanzu, Narok and Kisumu stations.
